In Anne's own words

"...I long to have a home of our own, to be able to move around freely and have someone help me with my homework again, at last. In other words, to go back to school!"

Anne Frank Day 12 June

Each year on the 12th June we commemorate Anne Frank Day on what would have been her birthday. This year is particularly important as Anne would have turned 80 years old.

We are commemorating this anniversary by encouraging learning about Anne's story and the Holocaust so that in another 80 years we will still remember Anne Frank and how she and six million others were killed because they were Jewish.

HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL RESOURCES:

- 'If Anne Frank was 80' - Lesson and Assembly ideas using an age progressed image of Anne Frank

- 80th Anniversary Activities Pack

- Anne Frank Tree Planting Pack

- Anne Frank Declaration

-Writing competition "Write to your 80 year old self"
Terms and conditions

Note to teachers:

- The Anne Frank Declaration can be printed off for individuals to sign or if using in the classroom you can print one and attach a blank sheet of paper where all students can then sign in agreement.

 JOIN OUR 80th ANNIVERSARY APPEAL!

The Anne Frank 80th Anniversary pack includes a range of ideas to raise awareness and money from Readathons to Cycle rides! These activities and resources are all available free to download.

Ask your friends and family, your Scout or Guide group, your local community centre, place of worship or school to help you commemorate Anne Frank Day and the 80th anniversary with us this year.

Any money you raise for the 80th Anniversary Appeal goes towards helping us take our Anne Frank exhibitions and educational programmes to 80 venues across the UK, so that more young people can learn about Anne’s story and about how to stop the hatred and prejudice in our society today.
