NASUWT announces Anne Frank Poetry category winner

The NASUWT's popular Arts and Minds Awards have announced the winner of this year's Anne Frank Poetry category. Charlotte Whiteley, from King James' School in North Yorkshire, impressed the judges with her poem 'Und alles nur, weil sie Juden sind' (And all because they are Jews).

Every year the NASUWT awards recognise literary and artistic creativity on the theme of diversity. Primary and secondary schools were invited to submit entries for the Anne Frank Poetry Competition, a category first introduced this year. Inspired by Anne Frank's writing, students submitted poems on the themes of equality, diversity and identity.

Honorary Life President Bee Klug MBE, donated a bronze bust of Anne Frank, which Charlotte won for her school for one academic year.
