The British Film Institute celebrate the 80th anniversary year of Anne Frank's birthday in 2009

Anne Frank, a Story for all times is an event created by the British Film Institute, to coincide with Holocaust Memorial Day and the 80th anniversary year of Anne Frank’s birth, to remember the extraordinary story of Anne Frank and to introduce it to a new generation.

There will be extracts from filmic and TV adaptations of the story and other short films made on a similar theme will be screened and discussed.

Gillian Walnes, the Founder and Executive Director of the Anne Frank Trust, will speak about the role of Anne Frank in the curriculum and address societal challenges. Deborah Moggach, writer and screenwriter from the latest BBC adaptation screening in early January 2009, will talk about the process of adapting a famous diary for the screen.
