Quote of the month

25th March 1944

I don’t have much in the way of money or worldly possessions, I’m not beautiful, intelligent or clever, but I’m happy, and I intend to stay that way! I was born happy...and I’d like everyone else to be happy too.

Anne M Frank

March 2010 poignantly marks the 65th anniversary of Anne and Margot's death in Bergen-Belsen, just a few short weeks before its liberation by the British army.

2020 Vision Panel Debate at Anne Frank + You

Yesterday evening a panel of five well known professionals, chaired by Reeta Chakrabarti, discussed the question ‘What kind of country do you want?’

A variety of issues and opinions were discussed including politics, young people and the changing role of education in the UK today.

On the panel were: Claire Fox, Director of the Institute of Ideas; The Most Reverend Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster; Michael Mansfield QC, leading civil rights barrister; Dr Eva Schloss, posthumous step-sister of Anne Frank and Wes Streeting, President of NUS.

60 guests joined this diverse panel to hear and take part in the debate. The debate was organised as part of a series of events held at the SW1 Gallery while Anne Frank + You, our flagship exhibition, is in situ until the end of this month.
