Thank you to our major sponsors
The exceptional generosity and commitment of our major donors has enabled the Trust to significantly expand its area of operation and to reach ever greater numbers of young people in Britain.
We would particularly like to extend our gratitude to the individuals and private organisations who have made a long term pledge to donate over £20,000 per year:
The Pears Foundation
www.pearsfoundation.org.uk
The Trust was introduced to the Pears Foundation in 2004. Since then, the Pears Foundation has invested in the infrastructure of the organisation enabling the move to our office in Kentish Town and the recruitment of a Director of Resources and Head of Fundraising and Development. As a result of this investment, the Trust has been able to double the capacity of activities across Britain, secure major investment from central government, trusts and foundations, establish the Anne Frank Awards as a high profile means of celebrating acts of moral courage and introduce the ground-breaking schools education programmes in London.
'The Pears Foundation seeks to act as a catalyst to empower individuals, particularly young people, to make a positive contribution to their community and country. Through its work in communities, schools and prisons The Anne Frank Trust does exactly that and we are proud to support its valuable work and help put it on a sustainable footing. All the Foundation's work is underpinned by the promotion of human and civil rights and we admire the Anne Frank Trust's efforts to challenge prejudice and discrimination in all walks of life'

Vincent Tchenguiz and Consensus Business Group
www.consensusbusiness.com
Vincent Tchenguiz grew up in Iran, son of Jewish-Iraqi immigrants. He went to local American schools followed by American and Canadian universities and business schools. When the revolution came in 1979, his parents were forced to flee Iran and settle in Britain. Vincent - with his brother Robert - founded Rotch, a major property-based business empire. He then founded Consensus Group as a vehicle for the core business of structured finance business; acquisition, management and development of commercial and residential real estate. The group also holds a substantial portfolio focused on the environment, new technologies and technology start-ups.
Together with the subsidiary company, Estates and Management, Consensus has funded the Anne Frank Trust UK since 2005 and sponsors the running costs of our flagship touring exhibition Anne Frank+You. Consensus funded exhibitions have been held in St Paul's Cathedral London, Huddersfield, Hull and Liverpool. Consensus has also funded the development of this website.
Daphne Schild
Daphne Schild has sponsored and hosted the Trust's Holocaust Memorial Day Luncheon since 2004 in memory of her late husband Rolf Schild OBE. Rolf was a good friend and avid supporter of the Anne Frank Trust UK and hosted the first luncheon in January 2003, the last public event he attended prior to his death in April.
The son of a Jewish textile worker, Rolf was born in Lindental in Germany in 1924. He went to school in Cologne where, in 1939, his headmaster arranged for him and about 100 others to be evacuated to England by the Kindertransport. Rolf's elder brother was already in England, but his parents were not permitted to follow and both died in Nazi camps.
Rolf became an entrepreneur and inventor in the field of industrial components and medical equipment and worked on the development of the world's first heart and lung machine. His company, Huntleigh Technology, sold products all over the world and received Queen's Awards for exports and innovation. He was appointed OBE in 1997 and also awarded the German Order of Merit for his contribution to Anglo-German relations.
Daphne Schild has been made a Life Patron of the Anne Frank Trust UK in recognition of her dedication and generosity.
The Trustees of the Barcapel Foundation
www.barcapelfoundation.org
The Barcapel Foundation has joined the group of major donors to the work of the Trust with a three year commitment to funding the development of Anne Frank work in Scotland from 2008 to 2010.
The Barcapel Foundation has been supporting charitable works and endeavours in Scotland and beyond for over 40 years. Today's trustees still operate guided by the philosophies of the original settlors R Clement Wilson and Andrew C Wilson. The "development of people" is one of the principal objectives of the Foundation. Whilst charitable giving can be used to alleviate problems it can also be used to empower people and this is particularly true of the young.
Rothschild Foundation (Europe)
www.rothschildfoundation.eu
The Rothschild Foundation (Europe) is a UK registered charity, established in 2000 as Hanadiv Charitable Foundation, under the Chairmanship of Lord Rothschild. The Foundation’s particular aim is to support and strengthen Jewish life in Europe. Operating in over 40 European countries, it has funded initiatives across a range of areas, including the development of the Jewish culture of today; Jewish identity and communal life; the academic study of Jewish history and its contribution to European society; and the preservation of Jewish sites and documents attesting to 1,000 years of Jewish life in Europe. The Foundation also supports charities that work to advance equality and civil rights, either within or in collaboration with the Jewish communities of their respective countries.
The Rothschild Foundation Europe has made a three year commitment to funding the Anne Frank Prison Education project.
We would also like to thank the following government departments for making substantial contributions to our activities:
Department for Communities and Local Government for funding the London Schools Project and Prison Education project through the Connecting Communities Plus programme
