In Anne's own words

"...I long to have a home of our own, to be able to move around freely and have someone help me with my homework again, at last. In other words, to go back to school!"

Anne M Frank

Anne Frank around the world

The international work undertaken by Otto Frank derived from his committment to using the memry of his daughters as a means of bringing about reconciliation. To date, the diary has been published in 67 different languages and has sold 31 million copies.

Following widespread interest in the Secret Annex, Otto Frank opened the Anne Frank House as a museum in 1960.  The first visitors were German students, invited by Otto Frank in an act of reconciliation.  The Anne Frank House in Amsterdam now receives around 1 million visitors every year from around the world.

Anne Frank Fonds, based in Basle, Switzerland, is the organisation established by Otto Frank, to be the legatee of royalties from the sale of the Diary.  It supports various charitable organisations with grant aid and has recently given a large archive of photographs and other material to the Anne Frank House on permanent loan.

We are grateful for the international collaborations and mutual support that exists across the Anne Frank international network.
