In this section, we highlight current productions that relate to the story of Anne Frank.

And Then They Came For Me
remembering the world of Anne Frank

Eva Schloss - a Trustee of the Anne Frank Trust UK - was the same age as Anne Frank and her family lived in the same apartment building in Amsterdam. Like the Frank family, they were also betrayed. Eva and her mother survived and after the war, her mother married Otto Frank.

Part oral history, part dramatic action, part remembrance, the play is a unique theatrical experience that weaves video taped interviews of Holocaust survivors with live actors. The result is a moving and inspiring play of survival and courage.

More about the story

India lives in a large, luxurious house. She seems to have it all but her parents are so busy worrying about themselves, she thinks they’ve forgotten about her.   Her mother’s fashion business is really taking off but Dad seems to be having problems of his own.  Down on the local estate, Treasure’s staying with her wonderful Nan.  She really doesn’t want to go back to live with her mum, not while Mum’s new man is there - he’s got such a temper.

A chance meeting sparks a great friendship between the girls. They both escape from their problems by writing diaries, inspired by their heroine, Anne Frank.  But when secrets start jumping out of the page and into real life, Treasure and India find themselves in deep trouble.

Following the production in London, Watershed Productions is then touring it across Britain until the middle of August -  playing at theatres in Dartford, St Albans, Wolverhampton,, Coventry, Sheffield, Bournemouth, Tunbridge Wells, Canterbury, Salford, Basingstoke, Hull, Leeds, Dunstable, Cardiff, Glasgow and the Isle of Man.  For full details see www.watershedtheatre.com
