Schools tune in from across the country. Find out more about these special interactive learning events below. What you need to know: Who are the online events for? Do young people need any previous knowledge? What size group can watch? How long are the events? All young people aged 9 -15 can join our events Young people don't need any previous knowledge! Our events are ideal for whole classes, year groups or even school assemblies. But are also great for individuals too. Each event last 1 hour When do our events take place? What does it cost to join? What will young people learn? What are the events about? On or around key dates in the year such as Holocaust Memorial Day, Anti-Bullying week, Black History Month or World Book Day. Usually starting at 10am Our online learning events are free of charge, thanks to our funders and supporters Awareness of prejudice and inspiration about how to challenge it. Skills in discussion and critical thinking. Knowledge about Anne Frank’s experiences of antisemitism during the Holocaust, and issues of prejudice today Each event focuses on the topic of the day – e.g. antisemitism on Holocaust Memorial Day, or gender on International Women’s Day. We use personal stories, factual data, and inspiration from Anne Frank’s life and diary. On the day Each event streams live on YouTube. It’s hosted by a member of our education team, in conversation with one or more guests. We explore the topic through discussion, images, facts and figures, films and quizzes. Young people can respond with answers, comments and questions – individually or as a group, just by pointing a phone or tablet at a QR code on the screen. We always include Anne Frank’s life and diary as part of these sessions, reflecting on the history of the Holocaust and Anne’s writing in response to the antisemitism she faced. Our World Book Day event with author Tom Palmer! Thank you so much for organising the event. The balance between listening and engaging was fantastic, the stories told, questions asked and the extracts used had a real impact on our students watching. It also opened students’ eyes to issues that need tackling today and their role in that. We have had issues within our year group around issues of respect, tolerance and equality and what they look like. This hit the nail on the head, so to speak! Manage Cookie Preferences
