  1. About us
  2. Our values

Our values

Who we are

Our vision: a world free from prejudice

Our mission: we are an education charity that empowers young people to challenge prejudice in all it its forms, inspired by the life and work of Anne Frank

Our values

Inspired by Anne Frank, we believe in and always try to act on:

.

.1. Equity We are passionately committed to the diversity and common humanity of all people. We are determined to build a world of equity and social cohesion. This is the goal of our education programme, and a principle that drives everything we do as an organisation. We are specifically committed to working to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of antisemitism

.

.2. Learning. We see learning as a lifelong adventure, vital to the wellbeing of individuals and society, and to our effectiveness as a charity. We love to get feedback and evidence about our impact, and we always reflect and act on it.

.

.3. Positivity. We are proactive and creative in finding solutions to every challenge we face. We empower our beneficiaries, collaborate with like-minded partners, and engage constructively with those whose values differ from ours. We believe in the value of fun, and we always try to be kind.

.

.4. Integrity. Fair and transparent in all our dealings, we do as we say and say as we do. We avoid over-simplification, especially in our education programme, because we know that many situations require complexity and nuance.

.

.5. Environmental responsibility. We recognise climate change as a massive threat to our aspirations for young people and for society. We are aiming to become carbon-neutral as an organisation.

.

.

.

Definition of antisemitism

We are committed to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism, including all its examples. The definition is the underlying basis of all our schools programmes and is covered explicitly in our workshop on antisemitism.

Our equalities plan

As an anti-prejudice charity, we are deeply committed to equality and diversity.

We want to be outstanding in equalities practice in every aspect of our work, and we know we’ve got lots to do to achieve this aspiration.

If you have any information, comments or questions about our equalities practice, we would love to hear from you. Please contact [email protected]

Youth Ambassadors from the Anne Frank Trust UK, who have witnessed or experienced antisemitism, anti-Muslim hatred and other forms of prejudice, met senior advisers at Number 10 this week to share their lived experiences and call for stronger education to tackle rising levels of prejudice.

Young People Gather in Manchester to Challenge Antisemitism and All Forms of Prejudice

The Anne Frank Trust held its 7th Annual National Youth Conference in Manchester this week, bringing together some 90 young people from 18 secondary schools across the UK, to take a united stand against rising antisemitism and hatred. All students attending the conference had previously attended one of the Trust’s two-day workshops and been trained as ‘Peer Educators’, with the skills to share their learning within their schools. We were also privileged to be joined by several of our Ambassadors
