On the anniversary of Hamas’ brutal terrorist attack, our thoughts are with everyone in Israel, and with all who have been impacted by the huge subsequent surge of antisemitism here in the UK. We mourn too the many innocent Palestinian and Lebanese lives that have been lost, and we stand alongside the British Muslim community against rising Islamophobia.

On 15 July 1944, Anne Frank wrote in her diary: “I feel the suffering of millions. And yet, when I look up at the sky, I somehow feel that everything will change for the better, that this cruelty too will end, that peace and tranquillity will return once more. In the meantime, I must hold on to my ideals. Perhaps the day will come when I’ll be able to realise them!”

Murdered for being Jewish, Anne didn’t live to realise her ideals. Educating young people in her name, we work to build the world she longed for – a world united against hatred of any kind.
