Highlights from our Annual Lunch 2026

On January 29th, we hosted our Annual Lunch to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2026 - a significant event that brought together friends and supporters from across the UK and beyond, united under this year’s theme ‘Bridging Generations’. Our Guest Speaker was Rob Rinder MBE, and the event was expertly hosted by broadcaster and journalist Emma Barnett.

We had the privilege of welcoming our candlelighters:

  • Gillian Walnes-Perry, Honorary Vice President of the Anne Frank Trust, who list a candle in tribute to our late co-founder and President, Eva Schloss MBE
  • Robert Slager, a survivor of the Holocaust who was a hidden child in the Netherlands.
  • Katy, an Anne Frank Trust Young Ambassador and refugee from the Ukraine, who has experienced xenophobia.
  • Sokphal Din, a survivor of the Cambodian genocide.
  • Karen Cravitz, widow of Melvin Cravitz, who was killed in the Heaton Park Synagogue attack on Yom Kippur
  • Julian Schild, son of the Annual Lunch's founder Rolf Schild, who arrived in the UK on a Kindertransport and whose family have supported the Trust's work for over two decades.
